Art director Shige Hasegawa started his Snap Button Project – a series of folded animals fixated by buttons – with the model of an elephant. The smooth wooden surface is a distinct feature of his snap-button animals and makes it fun to animate and play with them. He also wanted to encourage imagination and the fun to solve a puzzle, especially in children.
Easy to produce, each animal starts out as a flat 0.1mm thick wooden sheet. The animals work both as a toy for children or playful tableware.
