Japanese designer Satsuki Ohata came up with the ingenious idea to design shoes molded perfectly after your very own feet. Creating the shoes involves a process which is similar to cheese fondue and requires to dip your feet in liquid PVC. “Fondue Slippers” was born. The liquid PVC material is then “baked” at around 200-300 C, afterward the slippers can be worn as regular shoes.
Ohata still seems truly amused about his invention.
He is still in the prototype phase but plans to release a “Fondue Slippers” kit for home use. I will be waiting in line when they hit the shelfs.
